Yes. CineTally syncs data from your public film diary. You'll need an active profile with a public diary to participate.
When you first join, you upload a full export file (a ZIP from your film diary settings). After that, CineTally automatically checks your public RSS feed every week for new diary entries.
You own your data. CineTally does not sell data, run ads, or share information with third parties. Community stats are visible to anyone who visits the site, but you control your own account and can delete it along with all associated data at any time.
CineTally uses a graph database to map connections between members and films. The Community Film Network shows which films connect which members. The Member Connection Web shows how closely aligned your taste is with others. The thicker the line, the more films you share.
Each month, CineTally picks a themed challenge (e.g., "Watch a film from the 1960s" or "Try a documentary"). The community can see who's completed it, adding a fun, low-pressure incentive to explore new genres and eras.
Create an account, then head to the Join page to link your film diary username and upload your history. An admin will add you to the community member list.
